P. Lynn Wakefield, M.D.

Lynn joined Selection Research International (SRI) in spring 2006. She brings professional experience in personality assessment, family dynamics, effective interpersonal support structures, stress management and an in-depth knowledge of medical conditions, their treatment requirements and their impact on people's lives and concerns. As a practicing psychiatrist with 35 years experience (including 19 years as Consultant and Liaison Officer to Medical and Surgical Services and a busy Med/Psych Emergency Department), Lynn has encountered a broad range of problematic issues and effective strategies with which to approach them.

As a result of independent and small-group travel to Southeast Asia, Russia, Turkey, Egypt, Central Africa and Central America, Lynn has first-hand knowledge of the potential challenges associated with international assignments, particularly for family members attempting to conduct ordinary transactions in novel environments.

Lynn earned her M.D. Degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1972, completed her Residency in Psychiatry in 1975 and obtained Certification by The American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry in 1976. She holds an appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at St. Louis University, and maintains a part-time Private Practice. Lynn has served at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, St. Louis, for 24 years. In addition to clinical care, she held responsibility for the training and/or supervision of Psychiatry Residents, Medical and Nursing Students, Psychologists, Clinical Social Workers and Physician Assistant Students.
